Israeli Communities within Range of Rocket Fire – Emergency Instructions for Civilian Population
The firing of rockets at Israeli communities surrounding the Gaza Strip is expected to continue over the next few days, and may expand to additional area. Therefore, residents are requested to follow directions for preparing a protected room and act in accordance with the instructions at the sound of an alarm, an explosion, or a “Color Red” alert.
Residents of villages adjacent to the security fence are asked to remain within shelters tomorrow, in close proximity to protected areas, and are requested not to assemble in groups.
All schools and commercial centers will remain closed, with the exception of vital services, such as medical centers, grocery stores and public transit will operate on a limited schedule.
Residents in the rest of the villages within range of up to ten km of the Gaza security fence are directed to ensure that they are no more than fifteen seconds from a protected area. Public gatherings in this perimeter are forbidden.
Residents of towns in the range of ten to twenty kilometers from Gaza , must be able to enter sheltered areas within thirty seconds. This area includes the cities of Ahkelon, Netivot and the surrounding towns. In these towns, gatherings of up to 100 people are allowed to be held only under reinforced ceilings. Commercial activity will only be allowed to take place in reinforced buildings.
Residents of towns in the range of twenty to thirty kilometers from Gaza , must be able to enter sheltered areas within forty-five seconds, and gatherings of up to 500 people are allowed to be held only under reinforced ceilings.. This area includes the cities of Ashdod , Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Mal’achi, Ofakim, Rahat, and the surrounding towns. Educational activity will take place in reinforced buildings only. Commercial activity will only be allowed to take place in reinforced buildings.
A number of important issues for the population:
The Home Front command has advised the local authorities to open the public shelters. Entrance to the shelters is advised only if they are reachable within the aforementioned time frames.
Gatherings near rocket attack sites should be avoided. Unidentified objects and rockets should not be approached. In such instances the police should be notified.
Adhering to these guidelines and entering sheltered rooms – saves lives.

Missionaries In India
This is a request for prayer for YWAM missionaries and their churches
in Orissa, India. The request came from Mable Hurst, an
associate of HCJB Global. Please read and make this a matter of urgent
prayer.
Dear beloved sponsors and friends of Good News India .
We have never seen anything like t his. We knew that Orissa was the
most resistant and hostile State in India as far as the Gospel is
concerned. And we brushed off the continuous threats and harassment we
faced as we went about His work. But none of our staff imagined that
they would see this kind of carnage…. And it seems to be totally
under the radar of the Western Media . Let me explain…. A militant
Hindu priest and 4 of his attendants, who were zealously going around
the villages of Orissa and ‘reconverting’ people back to Hinduism,
were gu nned down by unknown assailants in Central Orissa last
weekend. Immediately the Christians were blamed. The cry rose
up…’Kill the Christians!’ And the horror began…. In the past 4
days, we have first hand witness to hundreds of churches being blown
up or burned and many, many dozens of Christian tribals have been
slaughtered. For no other reason than they bear the name of Christ.
Night and day I have been in t ouch with our Good News India Directors
spread across 14 Dream Centers in Orissa… they are right in the
middle of all this chaos. In Tihidi, just after the police came to
offer protection, a group of 70 blood-thirsty militants came to kill
our staff and destroy the home. They were not allowed to get in, but
they did a lot of damage to our Dream Center by throwing rocks and
bricks and smashing our gate, etc. They have promised to come back and
‘finish the job.’ Our kids and staff are locked inside and have stayed
that way with doors and windows shut for the past 3 days. It has been
a time of desperately calling on the Lord in prayer.
More police have come to offer protection. In Kalahandi, the police
and some loca l sympathizers got to our dream center and gave our
staff and kids about 3 minutes notice to vacate. No one had time to
even grab a change of clothes or any personal belongings. As they
fled, the blood thirsty m ob came to kill everyone in the building. We
would have had a mass funeral there, but for His grace. In Phulbani,
the mob came looking for Christian homes and missions. The local Hindu
people, our neighbors turned them away by saying that there were no
Christians in this area. So they left. We had favor. The same thing
happened in Balasore.
All our dream centers are under lock down with the kids and staff
huddled inside and police outside. The fanatics are circling outside
waiting for a chance to kill. Others were not so fortunate. In a
nearby Catholic orphanage, the mob allowed the kids to leave and
locked up a Priest and a computer teacher in house and burned them to
death. Many believers have been killed and hacked into pieces and left
on the road…. even women and children. At another orphanage run by
another organization, when this began, the Director and his wife
jumped on their motorbike and simply fled, leaving al l the children
and staff behind. Every one of our GNI directors that I have spoken to
said: ‘We stay with our kids…. we live together or die together, but
we will never abandon what God has called us to do.’ More than 5000
Christian families have had their homes burned or destroyed. They have
fled into the jungles and are living in great fea r waiting for the
authorities to bring about peace. But so far, no peace is foreseen.
This will continue for another 10 days…. supposedly the 14 day
mourning period for the slain Hindu priest. Many more Christians will
die and their houses destroyed. Many more churches will be smashed
down. The Federal government is trying to restore order and perhaps
things will calm down.
We ask for your prayers. Only the Hand of God can calm this storm.
None of us know the meaning of persecution. But now our kids and staff
know what that means. So many of our kids com ing from Hindu
backgrounds are confused and totally bewildered at what is happening
around them. So many of their guardians have fled into the jungles and
are unable to come and get them during these trying times.
Through all this, I am more determined than ever to continue with our
goal: the transformation of a c ommunity by transforming its children.
Orissa will be saved… that is our heart’s cry. If we can take these
thousands of throw-away children and help them to become disciples of
Jesus, they will transform an entire region. It is a long term goal,
but it is strategic thinking in terms of the Great Commission.
What can you do? First, please uphold all this in fervent prayer.
Second, pass this email on to as many friends as you can. We must get
the word out and increase our prayer base for this is spiritual
warfare at its most basic meaning. We are literally fighting the devil
in order to live f or His Kingdom. The next 10 days are crucial. We
pray for peace and calm to pervade across Orissa.

help us to get as many people to partner with us on this cutting edge
effort to fulfill His mandate: Go and make disciples of all nations.

Dear friends,
Those of you, who know me, know that I am conservative with warnings and careful about what I release for prayer. That being said, at my prayer meeting last Friday, two of my very trusted intercessors both received warnings of an attack (that could be stopped or minimized through prayer), which could cause national mourning. Neither of them shared the warnings with me until this past hour.
In the meantime, my daughter Kat and I both were hit with travail (strong weeping in the spirit of prayer) on Saturday afternoon, September 20, 2008. There was a tremendous weight on our hearts as we felt a significant death was possible to happen—if the Body does not pray. We prayed that afternoon and evening. This past Friday through today, I have an ALARMING sense that we are about to OR MAY experience a terrorist attack that will launch our nation into a season of deep mourning.
[Note by Steve Shultz: We must pray that this will NOT be necessary to have days of mourning, but that through our prayers, disasters can be stopped.]
Let’s also be certain to pray for the safety of our President, Vice President, all the candidates and their families.
Something seems potentially imminent, so we MUST PRAY to avert or to minimize any potential attacks on our nation.

So, indeed, prayer here in Israel, as for the many persecuted Christians in India right now
(I heard some 5000 houses have been burnt down in various parts, and Mumbai is ‘next in line’), is a matter of priority!
So my prayers in the serious situations is with you too, my dear bro.and that you may have favour with GOD . And also those in Pakistan, as things hot up there, and with the USA and Afghanistan, etc.

Please pray for this request from our cousin Pia in Iraq in the Navy. The soldiers need our prayers in Iraq and all over the world.
Saints: We need your prayers!! I say again, we need your prayers in
Iraq!! Please do not forget about us serving in Iraq. Although, Iraq
is not in the news as much as times before that does not mean the battle
is over. We must step up our game in the area of spiritual warfare.
Please help me to prepare for what is to come.
In the future, our leader, General David Petraus, will depart. Also, in
November we will see a shift in our Commander in Chief. I will vote
but ultimately God’s perfect will will be done. He is much wiser than
you or I. These are critical positions for us and I am not afraid of
what will happen when new people are in these positions; my focus is to
prepare for the shift. Please pray and stand with me on the following:
1. The enemy will not gain any ground as our new leadership gets
into place.
2. Continue your prayers for Nouri Al-Maliki (the Prime Minister);
he is a man and susceptible to pride and arrogance. Please pray for him
to remain a humble servant and pray that he is open to advice from our
military leaders.
3. Pray for the continued protection of our troops, Department of
State employees, and contractors.
4. Continue in prayer to bind the spirit of sectarianism, deceit,
and violence and loose a spirit of cooperation, integrity, peace, and
reconciliation.
5. The direct attacks on our compound have decreased significantly
and I thank God for this, please pray for my continued peace, courage,
and strength as I complete my remaining time of this special assignment
for the Lord. Pleas pray for my family as well that they remain
healthy and strong.
Finally, a praise report, in April, we prayed that Muqtada Al-Sadr (he
is the head of the influential militia army), seeks an everlasting peace
with the Coalition Forces and the Government of Iraq. Today, it was
reported in Pan Arab news that he has called for a freeze indefinitely
(basically an indefinite cease fire on the occupiers) and he called on
his followers to organize peaceful demonstrations against “the invaders”
on the first Friday of Ramadan. Hallelujah!! Saints, this is the best
example I can give of us praying for a cause and the effects of our
prayers. Saints, don’t stop praying for the troops and this nation.

Zimbabweans will rush into Johannesburg in large numbers
South Africa is faced with an on going migration crisis, with over 3 million immigrants from Zimbabwe alone. This crisis is a result of hardships faced by Zimbabweans in Zimbabwe. This crisis has led to frustrations among the South African poor who have been forced to compete with the immigrant populations for basic resources and employment. In the recent past we have seen the ugly face of xenophobia, resulting in many deaths, massive displacement of the immigrant population and a large reverse migration of immigrants back into there poverty and war stricken countries. The South African police were unable to deal with the violence and the army had to be called in.
